Book excerpt:

Perform Chinatown Proposal:

“Circulate the attending crowd and appear to function as an event photographer. From this position, engage crowd members to photograph them. Standard language will be used to request permission to take photos of the attendees… “mind if I take a photo?” or “can I get a two-shot?” (when asking two people to pose for an image) etc.”

“When photographing, I will lower the camera and photograph the attendee’s shoes or lower body making sure NOT to include the face of person(s). Will then thank the person and disengage. If questioned why or requested to make a standard ego/face-based image, I will not placate their request and will verbally evade the requester’s desire. I will not, on any level, flatter the ego of the attendee by photographing their face. I refer to images to be generated as Ego Shift Images, ESI’s.
